Lewisville Fire Department is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Fire Chief for the Department. The department is a North Carolina non-profit organization. The position will be responsible for leading the daily operations of a progressive combination suburban department and for the preparation and maintenance of annual and long term budgets, personnel, records maintenance, compliance, department representation and other projects as directed by the Board of Directors. The position is also responsible for maintaining departmental readiness and proficiency in the latest fire, rescue and EMS methods and delivery.
Applicants shall meet the following minimum requirements:
Associates Degree from an accredited university or college
Fire Officer II
At least 10 years’ Fire/Rescue experience with supervisory responsibilities.
Emergency Medical Technician, NC Carolina Firefighter (or equivalent pro-board certification)
Preferable Applicants shall possess
Three or more years as Captain or higher level fire department position
Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, Business or Public Administration from an accredited college or university
Certification as NC Rescue Technician, Qualified NC fire/rescue instructor, NC Fire officer III or above
Successful candidates must pass NFPA 1582 physical, driving and background checks.
The successful candidate will be required to establish residency in the service district. If the person selected does not have possess a Baccalaureate Degree or Executive Fire Officer they will be required to attain them within a reasonable time.
